YOU will receive a SPECIAL BLESSING (as promised)

Readers are encouraged to check out the first three verses of Revelation because they provide a profound prelude to the prophetic visions that follows the rest of the book. They establish the three important matters regarding the book:  (a) divine origin and purpose; (b) the fidelity of John’s testimony, and (c) the offer of a special blessing for those who will read and heed its prophecy:

" (v1) The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants
                   — things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to

                  His servant John,

(v2)  bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.

(v3) Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy,
and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near."

The word "revelation" (Greek: apokalypsis) means an unveiling or disclosure, signifying that this book reveals God’s plan for the future.  John’s role as the faithful witness emphasizes that the visions he records are not human speculation but a message from God Himself.

Thus, God highlights the urgency of the message, calling believers to readiness, steadfastness and trust in God’s sovereignty—even amid trials.

This third verse assures a unique blessing for those who engage with the prophecy. Both the reader and the hearer are blessed, provided they take to heart the message. This blessing underscores the significance of the prophecy and the importance of understanding and internalizing its contents. The phrase "the time is near" reiterates the urgency and relevance of the Book of Revelation today.
