Beholding the Glorified Christ: Insights from Revelation 1:9-20

Image
The vision recorded in Revelation 1:9-20 serves as a profound introduction to the prophetic messages given to the Apostle John. John explains that he was on the island of Patmos, a small, rocky island in the Aegean Sea, likely exiled as a punishment for being perceived as a threat to the Roman Empire. While exiled on Patmos, the Apostle John received a divine vision on the Lord's Day. He was in the Spirit and heard a powerful voice like a trumpet. Overwhelmed by the vision, John fell at the feet of a majestic figure of the Son of Man—the risen Jesus. Jesus reassured him, declaring Himself as the First and the Last, the Living One who was dead but is now alive forever. The One who holds the keys of Hades and Death. Jesus instructed John to write down the vision and explained that the seven stars represent the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches in Asia Minor to whom the divine messages are intended. John witnessed the risen and exalted Jesus...

Greetings and Admonitions to the 7 Churches (future Kings and Priests)

Image
Revelation 1:4-8 introduces us to the profound messages directed at the seven churches in Asia Minor.  John extends a greeting of grace and peace from the eternal Father, through Jesus Christ—the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.           John praises Jesus for His love, the liberation from sin through His sacrifice, and the transformation of believers into a kingdom of priests serving God. After the faithful believers are taken to Heaven for the Marriage of the Lamb, this passage highlights the profound impact of Jesus' coming with His Bride, where every eye will see Him, and the significance of God’s eternal sovereignty as the Alpha and Omega.     This is all part of His redemptive work:     “To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us kings and priests to his God and Father…” (Revelation 1:5b-6). Christ’s redemptive work c...

YOU will receive a SPECIAL BLESSING (as promised)

Readers are encouraged to check out the first three verses of Revelation because they provide a profound prelude to the prophetic visions that follows the rest of the book. They establish the three important matters regarding the book:  (a) divine origin and purpose ; (b) the fidelity of John’s testimony , and (c) the offer of a special blessing fo r those who will read and heed its prophecy:             " ( v1) The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants                    — things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to                    His servant John,                  ( v2)  bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ,  to all things that he saw.         ...

EMBARKING ON AN EXCITING ADVENTURE

Image
Let’s embark on this exciting adv enture of exploring the Bible.      As a unique twist, instead of starting at the beginning, we’ll start at the ending. Yes, that’s right! We will begin with the climactic conclusion of God’s Word, the Book of Revelation , and work our way backwards to Genesis .     Why begin at the end? As exciting as it is, let’s take a look at the breathtaking vision of God’s ultimate plan and the warnings to the Seven Churches in Asia . By understanding the end goal, we can better appreciate the journey and the foundations laid out in the earlier books of the Bible. Revelation isn’t just about prophecy; it’s about promise —God’s promise to His people. Why This Approach?    In engineering, we often begin with the end in mind. Whether designing a building or solving a problem, knowing the final goal shapes every step of the process. The same principle applies to understanding the Scriptures. When we know how the...

Valley of Doubt

There are two groups of people: those who see and believe, and those who have not seen and yet believe. How blessed are those who believe without seeing. Compare this to John 20:29
